Influence Marketing | Would YOU Join You?

I talked to one of my students recently, and they asked me this: “Steve, how do I GET people to follow me in my business?”
And my answer was this: “stop trying to GET them into your business, and start LISTENING to them.” This is truly the essence of influence marketing, and here’s why.
Often, in influence marketing, I see many marketers become self-centered, desperate, and very bad listeners. Our mission in network marketing is to be a bridge to others, helping them to achieve their financial goals. And when you lose sight that–in influence marketing– it is larger than just ourselves, you will begin to push away your prospects rather than attract them to you.
Here Are Some Strategies For Success:
As Dale Carnegie said, “If You Want to Gather Honey, Don’t Kick Over the Beehive.” And influence marketing, get out of the habit of constantly disagreeing with your prospects — even when you know that they are wrong. It is true, “you can never say the wrong thing to the right person,” but it is just as important to inspire your prospects as it is to always be right.
Here is a tactic for powerful influence marketing: Instead of disagreeing with your prospect, offer a better alternative and didn’t give a list of reasons as to what the benefits are. The goal in influence marketing is to lead by example, and allow your prospects to realize the correct answer on their own. People are very loyal to their own ideas — but it’s up to you to help them see the “light.” You can never win an argument. Ever.
LISTEN!
Listen to your prospects, and they will always tell you everything you need to know. As I’ve said many times before, it’s up to YOU to discover your prospect’s needs, wants, and desires. And by knowing these things, you will be better able to offer your opportunity, in influence marketing, as a solution to the problems that they might have. You will always tell you exactly what you need to know, but it’s up to you to plant the seeds.
Of course, you do not want to always have the mindset trying to “sell” your prospects — this is a RELATIONSHIP business (influence marketing). By listening to what your prospects says, you will be empowered to give honest, thoughtful, pertinent, appreciation and acknowledgment of what your prospect says. And this is the KEY to influence marketing.
Now, Enough Petting, and ON WITH THE GETTING!
Besides getting people to like you, to influence others by getting the results, having a system, and having a team that stands by you is absolutely essential. It is true that people will join you because they know you, they like you, and they TRUST you, BUT … You must also have a system, or a way of doing things that your prospects can plug into. Having a system makes it as painless as possible for your prospect to change the way they think and do business.
There is nothing more powerful than having a system that gives you the power and influence — demonstrating HIGHER value — that others can only dream of. To get to this point you must always be improving, because in influence marketing, personal development is KEY. You must educate yourself, and arm yourselves with the tools, strategies, and resources that will powerfully impact the lives of your prospects.
