In network marketing today, you have to dig deeper than your products or your opportunity. To attract thousands of people to you, you must become the leader to help people reach their goals, that understands their struggles, and delivers value to their lives.

Network Marketing Today Is People
If you’re trying to be a salesman stop it right now. You must understand that network marketing today is all about relationships and leadership. There is nothing “sold” that will make someone want to join you in business and value you as a leader. People must like you, and the best way to get people like you is to show that you genuinely care.
The best example that I’ve ever heard goes like this: If you walked into store and saw someone looking at shovels, do they really need a shovel — or do they really JUST need a hole? The fact is, no matter how great your opportunity is, if you don’t demonstrate a willingness to help people they will never see your opportunity — OR YOU — as a bridge to achieving their goals.
Understand People’s Struggles
Understanding people is all about mindset. If you are trying to be salesy or pitchy people can detect your selfishness from miles away. First, establish the fact that you are a freaking human being, with real emotion, that has experienced struggle, who has overcome it, and now has a genuine desire to help other people to do the same.
Always ask the question, why? Why would an opportunity like this help somebody? Why is this opportunity, the best solution to solve someone’s problem? Peel away the layers. What are other issues that people inside of this niche have? Why would these type of people be looking at an opportunity like this? Asking questions like this to yourself will move your mindset away from that salesperson place — to a place of leadership.

Would you join you? It is a question that you must ask yourself in everything that you do. From the way you reach your prospects to the way you lead your team—you’ve got to BE the person that people want to do business with. Actually, in network marketing today you are not selling products OR an opportunity.
What you are selling is YOU. Leadership is the most valuable commodity on the planet—always has been, and always will be. The question you must ask yourself today is what are you doing to become that leader? Educate yourself with the best. Learn from the best. Give your heart—NOT your sales pitch.
